This piece was milled from a single blank of solid hardwood and finished by hand. No joints. No seams. Nothing to loosen. Cared for, it will outlast you — here's all it asks.
The short version
- Keep it out of direct sun and away from heat vents and radiators.
- Wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth — never soak, never spray cleaners.
- Once a year, a thin coat of wax-based wood butter restores the sheen.
- The friction fit breathes with the seasons — slightly firmer in summer, easier in winter. That's the wood, alive and working. It is not a defect; it's the point.
Wood butter
Any food-safe beeswax-and-mineral-oil blend works. Work a thin coat in with a soft cloth, let it sit twenty minutes, buff it off. The grain will deepen and the surface will feel new again.
What not to do
